About the role
We are looking for Support Workers who are committed to making a real impact upon youth homelessness in Wolverhampton. You will be based at our Wolverhampton office in Bilston, however you will be out and about in the community, working across the Wolverhampton area. You should be confident either travelling by public transport, or have your own transport.
This is a full time, 35 hour a week, opportunity for Support Worker to join the team in Wolverhampton.
This service provides support for young people aged between 16 – 25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
As a Support Worker working within this service, you will spend your time offering floating support services and project based services to young people, enabling them to live as independently as they can.
Services include helping young people to settle into their temporary accommodation, ensuring that homelessness is prevented and ultimately making them feel part of their community. You will work closely with our service users to work on developing their independence, move onto a permanent home, seeking out opportunities for them to learn, work and get involved in community and social activities.
We want someone who has the knowledge, insight and experience of working with people with mental health needs, but with a flexible working approach to be involved in all of the services currently being delivered under the support services projects.
Due to the nature of this role, we want someone to `hit the ground running` and it is preferable that you hold a relevant level 2 qualification or equivalent. You should be able to communicate well, stay calm under pressure and above all, you need the willingness to learn and grow with us.
