Were looking for a positive person to role model enthusiasm and kindness as well as a commitment to work training and education, because these are a must at Pathways.

We are looking for people who really enjoy working with homeless young people, in an ethical community interest company with charitable status. You will be able to work effectively, without judgement, but with a strong sense of professional boundaries.

If that sounds like something you want to be a part of this may be the job for you.

What you’ll be doing

Youll be working with young people aged 16 to 25 in our Homelessness service who may need support with finances, poor mental health and alcohol/drug use to empower them to fulfil their potential.

Your case load would be primarily to support young people, living in supported accommodation, at Pathways.

Youll work with diverse partner agencies to identify opportunities for customers to help them move on successfully. Youll also be carrying out housing management duties to ensure customers are able to sustain their tenancy obligations.

More about you

Youll be able to build effective relationships with a wide range of people including customers and colleagues, with an ability to influence and negotiate.

Youll be comfortable with dealing with challenging conversations, remaining confident and firm, whilst being respectful and considerate.

Youll have the skills to really listen to and recognize what it is that our customers really want and be committed to achieving the best possible outcome.

Youll have good basic administrative skills and experience of keeping and maintaining accurate records.

You may have some experience of support planning, risk assessment and inspiring young people to recognize and achieve their goals.

Youll have good resilience and an understanding of the issues faced by young people living in supported housing.

You will hold a full driving license and have use of a car each day.

If you can tick these boxes, then youre the person for us! Youll need a passion for working with young people and young children with the ability to develop and maintain great relationships we can teach you the rest.

We will need to take up an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check for this role which we will do for you when you start.

When and where you’ll be doing it

You will be able to work flexibly, Monday to Friday, based on our customers needs. On Tuesdays we take turns to work a late shift, 12-8pm, in order to offer support to young people for activities such as cooking and crafts.

Weekend shifts will be approximately one in every 5 weeks. Either side of the weekend shift you will have days off, usually the Thursday before, then the Monday after.

Youll be based at Pathways, 91 Wood Street, Bath BA2 3BJ.

A days leave on your birthday

26 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) rising to 29 after 3 years service
