Prospectus is pleased to be working with a homelessness charity based in Newham, whose mission is to provide support to people who find themselves sleeping rough in East London by providing a safe and welcoming place to stay, and offering support through the provision of personalised support, educational and life skills opportunities. They are now seeking a Rent & Income officer to join their dedicated team. This is offered as a permanent, full-time position Monday -Friday, 9am-5pm, based in Canning Town, East London.
As their Rent & Income Officer, you will work as part of a team to ensure the organisation maximises its income through the effect collection of rent, accommodation and services charges and other income owed to them by residents. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will provide excellent customer service to residents with complex needs, whilst ensuring the service provided is supportive and proactive with the aim of sustaining tenancies.
To be considered, you will have previous experience working in a customer service and income recovery working environment. Due to the nature of their work, you will have knowledge of supported housing issues, best practice in management of income recovery, debt counselling and debt collection. Finally, the understanding of the barriers and issues faced by individuals who are homeless and presenting with high complex needs is essential.
