Advantage Resourcing are working with one of the world’s leading providers of training simulators to the civil aviation and Defence industries, an opportunity has arisen for a Projects Engineer

The role:

The project engineer is responsible for the coordination, control, customer interface, monitoring and reporting an overall management of any number of contracts to achieve customer requirements in a timely manner and ensuring profitable returns.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Effectively liaise with customers (internal and external) at the inception of an enquiry and determine the technical and commercial requirements.
  • Review and check estimates and provide appropriate feedback
  • Drive adherence to Project Gateway milestones on all contracts under your control.
  • Maintain and update the contract file for all projects under your control, ensuring all documentation is recorded and quality procedures adhered to.
  • Liaise and provide support to the customer throughout the life of the project.
  • Execute all projects under your control with the due consideration for risk mitigation and fallback positions.
  • Produce schedules using MS Project for all projects under your control
  • Agreed spend on your projects by countersigning requisitions. (Up to a specified value)
  • Help to create resource and spend profiles, against which budgets for all projects under your control will be monitored.
  • Control change on all your projects, ensuring all out of scope works are funded, either through internal sources or by submission of a variation quotation to the customer.
  • Support project reviews with the PM as necessary with the cross functional (or specific function) team to monitor, maintain or improve progress of projects.
  • Management of sub-contractors both internally or externally
  • Support customers in achieving after sales support beyond the life of the project, assisting in setting up warranty, maintenance, spares or service contracts.

Skill set required:

  • Experience in logistics is essential
  • Ex-military forces is preferred but not essential
  • Proven effective project engineering and planning experience.
  • Management and negotiation skills.
  • Highly developed and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on their own and prioritise work based on company needs.
  • The ability to articulate project and program reporting information.
  • The ability to work on several issues and projects at a time.
  • Be willing to work at customer sites within the UK and overseas.
  • A relevant engineering / technical / project qualification.

Please Note: Our Client requires all workers to achieve the appropriate security clearance relevant to the role.

This role is primarily based at Manchester, but Worldwide and UK travel will be required.
