IHS Markit Digital is looking for a passionate, self-motivated Android developer to design and develop cutting-edge solutions that solve challenging real-world problems.
The ideal candidate will help define and build our mobile architecture. The person will join the team in developing visually engaging applications that present dynamic information from multiple sources. This role will utilize your skills to contribute to the expansion of mobile capabilities, including rich and interactive charting, streaming data, offline storage, and more.
WHAT TO BRING
Deep understanding of Android development including fragment and activity lifecycles, background processes, and multi-module architecture
Strong familiarity with Android UI development
Disciplined coding style with an eye toward maintainability and testability
Working knowledge of test-driven development, test automation, and/or CI
Experience with Scrum and Agile standard methodologies
Well-versed with Android Performance Metrics
Deep understanding of object-oriented principles and development patterns
Knowledge of Android design patterns and guidelines
Great communication skills with a desire to collaborate with peers
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
B.S or B.A. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar, or equivalent experience
5+ years of software development experience
4+ years of experience developing native Android apps
Published one or more applications to the Google Play Store
Experience developing on MacOS
Experience developing Android libraries and SDKs
Experience developing UI with Jetpack Compose
Expertise with Java and OO design and development; proficiency with Kotlin
