Location: Riverside Complex, 20 Garford Street, London, E14 8JG

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week on a rota including weekends and late shifts

Contract: Permanent position

Job Summary:

This position is based at Riverside Complex Lifehouse in Canary Wharf, London providing accommodation-based support to 81 homeless women. The post is a full 37.5 hours a week post including weekend and rota work.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Support Team. You will work with Support Workers to empower individuals to move on and break the cycle of homelessness. You will also complete day to day activities including administration tasks and reception duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To undertake booking in processes to the residents which include a thorough risk assessment and induction to the centre.
  • Work within a personalised and client directed support service
  • Work with the team to ensure the needs and actions withing the support / risk management plans are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work with the team to assist with facilitating planned move on options
  • Ensure all aspects of the job description are adhered to

  • The successful candidate will be able to:

    Improve the resident induction experience into the centre and to provide an initial point of contact – helping prevent potential feelings of isolation during the settling in phase, or further down the line.

    The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

  • An understanding of homeless issues
  • Willingness and motivation to engage homeless clients
  • Strong team working skillse
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills with clients, colleagues and external agencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient IT skills (including Microsoft packages)
