Who is the company?

An exciting new opportunity for a Field Service Engineer is now available, working for a manufacturer and global distributor of high risk, critical care medical devices.

What is the role?

As a Field Service Engineer you will be required to service and repair high risk medical equipment such as anaesthesia, ventilators, heart bypass devices and cardiac balloon pumps found within critical care units and theatres.

Key responsibilities are as follows;

  • To carry out routine servicing of equipment.

  • To carry out electrical, electronic and mechanical, fault finding and repair.

  • To carry out routine adjustments of equipment, where necessary.

  • To maintain adequate stock levels of spare parts within guidelines.

  • To maintain quality documentation records for submission to the customer via approved systems.

  • To cultivate a positive rapport with the customer, always demonstrating first class interpersonal skills in a courteous and professional manner.

  • This role will be home based, covering predominantly East London with regular travel throughout the rest of London and South East England. However, flexibility to travel further afrield on occassions is essential.

    This role will be best suited to any of the following applicants;

  • Biomedical engineering experience (Medical Engineers, Clinical Engineers, EBME Engineers, EME Engineers

  • Military Engineers (REME, Avionics Engineers, Weapons Engineers, those with experience with comms, radar, sonar etc.)

  • Electrically/Electronically-biased Engineers with a HNC or above in engineering/related discipline with field-based experience.

  • What package is on offer?

    * £32,000 – £37,000/pa

    What experience is needed to apply?

    * Electrical/Electronic service and repair experience (medical or ex-military engineers are desirable but not essential)
    * Experience in a field-based role or role which requires travel
    * UK driving licence
    * Good customer service, team worker and communication skills
    * HNC or equivalent/above in an engineering or related discipline (bonus but not essential)
