Housing Choice Officer (Ref: MDC)

£9, – £10, per annum

Homefinder is the choice based lettings system used by Mansfield District Council to allocate its housing stock, the Housing Options Officer plays a key role in this process.

As a Housing Options Officer you will be responsible for carrying out housing needs assessments for households wishing to join the Homefinder Waiting List this will include: assessing housing need; assessing low and moderate level medical needs; assessing low and moderate welfare needs; liaising with the Occupational Therapists to ensure their clients are re-housed in suitably adapted properties; bidding for properties on behalf of vulnerable applicants; preparing the weekly Homefinder advertisement; allocating properties; and safe viewings of properties that are ready to let.

Homefinder also provides support for households on the Homefinder waiting list via telephone and online via the Homefinder website and works closely with the Councils Homeless Team, Housing Assist Team and frontline Housing Management Staff.

The successful applicant should be computer literate, be able to communicate with people on all levels, knowledge of Homefinder and the Abritas computer system would be beneficial but training and an overview of Homefinder and the Housing Needs Service will be provided.
