Randstad are working with a well established registered Charity, working to improve the employability of disadvantaged 16-25 year old’s through our horticulture and catering programmes. We have over fifteen years of experience developing and implementing projects across the area and surrounding counties to improve local communities and the green spaces that they rely on.

Role Summary:

Support more disadvantaged young people especially those with special educational needs (SEN) and vulnerable adults currently not in employment, education or training (NEET) and those at risk of becoming so.

Provide a wider range of learning opportunities for young people who do not suit the traditional academic system and are better suited to vocational training.

Become financially sustainable through income diversification including new social enterprise activities for our young people.

Our small, successful charity runs Horticulture, Catering and Functional Skills programmes to help young people, with special educational needs and learning disabilities, to gain confidence, life skills and social support, alongside nationally recognised qualifications.

We require the skills of an enthusiastic and reliable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support the running of our Learning and Development Centre, within each of our four departments.

This role will be extremely rewarding, you will be supporting a team of Teaching Assistants and work closely with the Head of Department to deliver and support high quality and interactive provision.

Supporting Young People

  • Covering lessons within allocated department for PPA time and when tutors and/or teaching assistants are absent for a set number of hours per week (Please note that the number of PPA hours will be agreed at a later date and is dependant on the needs of the department.).
  • Provide day to day support, delivering 1:1, paired and small group teaching, and learner sessions within allocated department
  • Supporting pupils to develop crucial life skills to help them thrive
  • Be an active member of the behaviour team and support the implementation the positive behaviour strategy and policy.
  • Create and monitor a lunchtime rota to cover learner supervision
  • Breaktime and lunchtime monitoring of learners
  • Planning lessons and creating resources for your allocated department
  • Work closely with the tutors and teaching assistants within allocated department to ensure high quality resources are made for each cohort and provide support for the TA’s
  • Meet with parents and carers as part of maintaining positive relationships and the full implementation of our values and ethos
  • Attend Annual Reviews, parent meetings and make regular contact with parents/carers to ensure consistent communication.
  • Supporting the Heads of Departments by assisting with classroom based duties.
  • Oversee one of the following areas: Trips & Travel, PSHE, Sports, or Behaviour Management.
