Inspira is the leading Organisation delivering Personal Development and Career Management for Young People and Adults in the North West.

We have fantastic opportunities for a Skills & Development Adviser to join our friendly and hardworking team in Carlisle. We work with both unemployed adults as well as with young people to provide careers information, advice and guidance and personal support to those at risk of becoming NEET.

This role involves:

  • Individual diagnostic advice work;
  • Individual information, advice and support work;
  • Delivering dynamic personal development and career management courses to groups;
  • Meeting required contractual performance targets.

For the Skills & Development Adviser role, you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of working with adults or young people, on a 1:1 basis or in groups;
  • Experience of delivering Careers Information, Advice and Guidance;
  • Ability to manage a caseload of individuals;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working partnerships;
  • Ability to keep accurate and up to date records with a good attention to detail;
  • Ability to achieve targets and meet deadlines;
  • A flexible approach to working hours.

Whilst we would be keen to receive applications from candidates who have previous experience working with young people or unemployed adults, applications would also be welcomed from those with transferable skills willing to undertake training to pursue a career in this sector. In addition, whilst not essential for delivery of all contracts, applications would be particularly welcome from practitioners qualified to level 4 or level 6 in careers information, advice and guidance.
