We are looking for a Dynamic, Self-motivated e Podiatrist to work in the tri-borough area of Central London, providing care to residents across Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster.

So what do you need to join our team?

  • A BSc in Podiatry
  • You will need to be able to adapt to a fast moving service, work autonomously, and possess the clinical skills and ability to work independently and as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team
  • Candidates should have excellent communication skills, comprehensive clinical assessment skills and the ability to provide care as determined by clinical assessments.
  • To have strong relationship building skills to work positively in your nursing team, multidisciplinary teams and with patients
  • Main duties of the job

    To provide high-quality care to a diverse range of podiatry patients in a wide variety of settings. To assess diagnose, treat, plan and manage the podiatric (lower limb and foot care) needs of the local and transient populations in a wide variety of settings, in order to maintain patient mobility and independence

    To work in collaboration with a team of Podiatrists and other care providers to ensure seamless care delivery for all patients and where appropriate to liaise with and refer and work under direction on Band 6.

    The post holder will be expected to undertake appropriate clinical rotation(s) and will be supported by supervision and mentoring sessions.

    The post holder will, with their manager identify their knowledge and skills and will be encouraged to work towards the skills and knowledge level of a Specialist Podiatrist

  • To autonomously assess and diagnose patients with a diverse range of medical and podiatric conditions, using appropriate diagnostic techniques, skills and tools; to adopt a problem-solving approach to patient care, ensuring that all clients treated have an agreed treatment plan
  • To create and implement tailored treatment and care plans using a variety of appropriate treatment regimens for a range of patient groups including those in the at risk categories, focusing on the management of primary foot pathologies
  • This includes patients with the following conditions (this list is not exhaustive):

  • Chronic Disease , for example Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Neurological and vascular disorders, Parkinsons Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease

  • To be able to use physical therapies (ultrasound/ laser/ topical therapy), as indicated in an individuals treatment plan
  • To maintain accurate patient records including assessment and treatment plans in accordance to departmental and professional guidelines
  • Ensure that the condition of clinical rooms is maintained in accordance to infection control and Podiatry Service guidelines
  • To take an active role in supporting and delivering Health Promotion events within the Service and Trust, including promoting the departments services to other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate patients are referred to the service
  • Ability to realise when a patients condition is out of scope of grading and would need to be referred on to a senior grade
  • To work to agreed productivity targets as set out by the CLCH Podiatry service. All appointment slots are counted as 25 minutes (2 slots are used for a new patient and one for a follow up patient). As a Band 5 podiatrist an activity target is set at achieving 2760 successful patient contact slots per year. This target is liable to change based on service and individual variations and will be reviewed on a 6 month and yearly basis.
