Responsibilities

: The Agriculture Market Reporter (Associate Editor, Rice/Grains) is responsible for every aspect of price reporting. This includes talking to market participants from all over the world in a highly international-facing role to collect market and pricing information. They must research and write news articles and analysis on major market events. They must publish price assessments and commentary about the market and contribute to methodology development.

The content you generate and the relationships you build are essential to the energy, agricultural, metals and petrochemicals markets.

    Day timings: Covering the rice market would involve starting work between 8:30-9:00am London time, publishing assessments at 11:30am and then again at 4:30pm, and finishing the day at 5pm.

    Covering the grains market would involve being in the office by 9am London time, publishing assessments by 5pm, and publishing commentaries by 5:30pm.

    Your Skills :

  • BA degree or higher
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of role types and personalities, internally and externally
  • High intellectual curiosity with a self-starter mindset and effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform well to tight deadlines
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Culturally and socially sensitive
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Two to five years’ reporting/writing/analytical/editorial experience
  • Experience or knowledge of the agriculture sector
  • Keen interest in commodities and understanding of global commodity markets
  • Knowledge of economic principles
  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
  • Strong numeracy skills including ability to understand the basic principles of statistics and to apply basic maths functions in Excel
  • Fluency in relevant international languages (such as Russian, French, Spanish, Hindi/Urdu, Mandarin Chinese)
