Main duties of the job

Togive full support to the Line Manager in ensuring the provision of a comprehensiveand professional exercise-based rehabilitation service for entitled personnel.This will include undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculoskeletal/sportsand training injury area.

Job responsibilities

As the successful candidate your duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performing clinical assessments, designing and implementing safe and progressive exercise treatment schedules for all patients to support the care pathway, after the Medical Officer (MO)/Physiotherapist (Physio) has made a diagnosis.
  • Keeping records of all specific treatments given and of individual patients progression/regression in respect of such treatments. The ERI is to report any finding to the MO/Physio regularly and should attend consultations when required.
  • Using first aid, including the use of ice and taping/strapping techniques, for acute soft tissue injuries.

  • BSc Graduate in Sports Rehabilitation and maintain Full Graduate Membership of the British Association of Sports Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT).
  • BSc Graduate in Sports Therapy and maintain Full Graduate Membership of the Society of Sports Therapy (SST).
  • Ex-military ERIs who have completed the JSERI Course.
  • (1)Where an ex-military ERI is employed within the Civil Service, they must have completed a return to clinical practice (RCP), prior to employment or within the first three months of employment.
