An exciting opportunity for an experienced social worker to join busy and innovative Crisis Resolution Service offering support for residents of London Borough of Hackney and the City of London who are experiencing mental health crisis and their family/carers. We are looking for a social worker with a great experience in adult social care and adult safeguarding who is interested to develop their career in the field of mental health and has a good knowledge base and understanding of the mental health conditions, neurodiversity and learning disabilities.

The Crisis Resolution Services comprises of the Home Treatment Team, Crisis Line, Crisis Hub, Urgent Assessment Team as well as the Street Triage. We are currently working to transform our services and it is likely that following the transformation process you will be working across all crisis pathway and might be asked to cover also shifts in the Mental Health Liaison Team at the Homerton University Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Our service aims to provide holistic care and support to our clients and their families and you will be working alongside other professionals to champion social model of intervention. You will be one of several clinical lead representing other disciplines (nursing, psychiatry, occupational therapy, etc.) and will be part of the management team supporting the Operational Lead in operational management of the service. You will be a lead on social work and social care related matters and you will be acting as Safeguarding Adults Manager as well as the safeguarding children lead for the service. You will be representing the service on various inter-agency forums such as MARAC, MAPPA, etc. and often you will be deputizing for the Operational Lead.

You must be excited and strongly believe in the social intervention and ensure the social work intervention is equally recognized and utilized throughout the service. You will be involved in the exciting changes to the way the crisis services operate and you will have an opportunity to champion the importance of the social interventions delivered by the crisis services in Hackney and City of London.

You will be line managing various professionals and will be providing professional supervision to social workers within the service as well as from other services in case it is required.

You will be working 37,5 hours per week on a shift pattern, between 8:15 and 21:30, over 7 days a week (including weekends and bank holidays).
