This post represents a very exciting career developmentopportunity to bring clinical leadership to the delivery of psychological care,therapy and support to people with complex needs across the homeless, domesticviolence and drug and alcohol services in South Devon. As part of thisintegrated service development Devon Partnership NHS Trust, in conjunction withthe Torbay Recovery Initiative (TRI), is seeking a PractitionerPsychologist (Clinical or Counselling) in Substance Misuse. This post wouldsuit psychologists with relevant experience and a keen interest in developingtrauma informed practice approaches in community services.

A significant partof the role involves supporting staff by providing advice, consultation, andsupervision to non-psychologist colleagues and other support workers, andleading on the development of the training of staff in complex care and trauma.

Main duties of the job

It is expected that the post-holder will develop aspecialist psychology service for people referred to the drug and alcoholservice. This is a new post and is therefore a great opportunity to develop abespoke psychological support pathway for the service from scratch.

Excellentlinks exist with the Doctoral training programmes in Clinical Psychology at theUniversities of Exeter and Plymouth where placements for trainees can besupported, and other service evaluation and research initiatives are available.

The post will be supported by in-service line management, and clinical andprofessional psychology supervision from within Devon Partnership NHS Trust.

  • Further training or equivalent experience in [specialism] , or [specialist psychological practice or therapy]
  • Further training in at least one psychological therapy
