Customer Service Officer – Homeless Helpline

Are you looking for a rewarding role within the charity sector? Then we may just have the right opportunity for you! A leading homelessness charity has contacted Morgan Hunt to recruit a Customer Service Officer for their rough sleeper helpline in Central London. You will be assisting the team with connecting people sleeping rough with the relevant services to support them.

The perfect candidate would have:

  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate well over the phone
  • Previous experience working with the homeless OR exposure to the social care sector
  • The ability to maintain and build a positive rapport with the Local Authorities and Outreach services
  • An enhanced DBS certificate which has been issued within the last year or is on the update service
  • Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a high-quality telephone service and making sure both yourself and your team are portrayed in a professional manner
  • Offering support to fellow volunteers who are on shift that may require your assistance. This includes holding one to one supervisions and looking after their health and safety whilst at work
  • Take calls and be able to identify appropriate rough sleeper referrals gathering all the relevant information needed for either Local Authorities or Outreach teams to act upon
  • Acknowledging where web and call referrals relate to those at risk of rough sleeping and recognising where these calls need to be escalated to higher authorities.
