Fancy a new start in the New Year? Our Band 5 mental health rotation scheme is looking for newly qualified or Band 5s who would like to come and work in a mental health setting. We have number of posts on our popular Band 5 rotation which gives you the opportunity to work in a variety of different setting to build your skill set in mental health.

We have an impressive range of practice areas for you to work in, for example home treatment teams, community perinatal services, specialist inpatient acute care, rehabilitation and community occupational therapy roles. We have a tailor-made development programme to support you develop as a mental health occupational therapist. Many of our senior staff started off on the rotation and have gone on to a variety of senior roles in the organisation.

Our recent continuing professional development programme for OTs has included Sensory training, MOHO and MOHO ExPLOR training. All open to our Band 5s.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will oversee and provide occupational therapy assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation to a designated group of people accessing the (local information) service to promote well-being, recovery and social inclusion. To achieve this, the post holder will hold and integrate both the occupational therapy specific and generic elements of their job, whilst complying with the College of Occupational Therapists Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.

The rotation covers settings from inpatient acute care, forensic, community and specialist settings such as eating disorders and perinatal services.

  • To undertake occupational therapy assessments for a designated caseload, assessing health and well-being from an occupational To contribute to assessing and completing risk assessments within the multi-disciplinary team to support a persons recovery. To hold an up to date knowledge of a range of occupational therapy standardised assessments, the models on which they are based and how to carry these out.
