We have a new vacancyfor a qualified Dispenser, in our busy & friendly Homecroft SurgeryDispensary.

The post would besuitable for job share or one part time (28.5 hours per week)

Main duties of the job

Taking and processing prescription requestsaccurately and safely, providing a high level of service to patientsgenerally with a view to achieving a high level of patient satisfaction. Reviewing patients repeat prescription liststo identify redundant entries and report to clinicians as appropriate. Maintaining accurate records of dispensedmedications in patients medical records;

Dispensing prescriptions; collecting charges from patients, ensuring that all appropriate procedures arefollowed, particularly in relation to controlled drugs;

Assisting HDS to ensure adequate stock levelsat all times, ordering stock as agreed in liaison with HDS, ensuring the destruction of out of date,returned or unwanted stock as required ,checking accuracy of stock deliveries, ensuring that all drugs are storedappropriately, helping to ensure that all records of ordersand stock are maintained accurately;

Ensuring that the dispensary is clean, tidyand well maintained;

Assisting generally in relation to thepractices wholesale dispensing activities as required / instructed,aassisting the HDS with annual DSQS and QOFaudits

Facilitating movement of staff between sitesand promoting consistency of operations across sites as far as reasonably practicable;

Co-operating in the development ofrelationships with colleagues across the PCN of which the practice is a member,facilitating working across practices where appropriate.

Carn to Coast Health Centres is an 11-PartnerCornish GP Practice serving over 30,000 patients. We have a main surgery inPool and branch surgeries in Illogan, Camborne and St Day.

Our Practice has historically been at the forefrontin establishing a highly skill-mixed approach and this has been extended by maximisingthe use of additional roles within the North Kerrier West PCN (comprising ourPractice and the neighbouring Praze Surgery). The mix now includes paramedics,mental health staff, clinical pharmacists and technicians, care co-ordinationand physiotherapy, all supported by a substantial administrative team, whoserole includes processing clinical correspondence and workflow (through Docman).
