Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse to join our Primary Care Team delivering health care to the Homeless community in Birmingham. We are based in a GP practice near the city centre dedicated to the Homeless and have well established links to all other agencies involved in the care of the homeless including Birmingham City Council, the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust Homeless Community Mental Health Team and the Mental Health outreach team for rough sleepers and other 3rd sector homeless agencies.
Main duties of the job
This is an established post within the team to work alongside our current community psychiatric nurse and psychological therapist to deliver an enhanced primary care mental health service to our service users. A significant interest and experience in delivering psychological interventions such as CBT and DBT for common mental health problems would be an advantage.
We are a hardworking team and require someone who wants to be a team player but can work on their own initiative to develop services and is flexible enough to meet the challenges of the post. The post holder must be motivated to work with a variety of agencies including hostel staff and outreach workers to assertively engage with service users who may be experiencing mental health issues.
We can offer you a wealth of experience in delivering care to the vulnerable and to substance misusers, good team support and great opportunities for personal development and training.
