Residential Support Worker Children s Home

If so, this role could be perfect for you. We are currently recruiting Residential Support Workers and Senior Support Workers for our client, who are an Investor In People and one of the largest providers of children s care and education in the UK.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be a core part of a talented team that works selflessly together to provide outstanding care for young people with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Your new role as a Children s and Young Peoples Residential Support Worker reports into the Registered Manager, of a Children s Home and your focus will be to provide nurturing therapeutic care to children who ve experienced traumatic life experiences.

You will act as a positive role model to the children ensuring that they have a happy, therapeutic experience in care enabling them to live a fulfilled and independent life.

You will need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins. You also need a driving valid UK driving licence and be happy to drive the homes car to ferry the children around to various activities, schools and clubs.

The Person

Firstly, we want people that are naturally caring and empathetic who want to provide the best care and support possible.

Previous experience working with children and young people children s sector is not essential as full training will be provided.

Ideally though, you will have previous experience of care and support within the children s, young adults, adults , elderly, learning disabilities or mental health sectors.

You may have been working with different setting such as Carer, Supported Living, Semi Independant, Teaching Assistant, Youth Support worker, Nursery Practitioner, Pastoral, Childcare, Mental Health, Learning Difficulties, Mental Health, or anything similar.

The working week is a shift rota , which adds up to 169 hours per month

3-week rotating shift pattern, shifts are from 7.30am to 10.30pm , sleep ins are paid extra you would leave work following morning around 8.30am/9am

Week 1 Monday , Thursday

Week 2 Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday

Week 3 Wednesday and Saturday, Returns to Week 1,2, 3 and so on and so forth

Salary Rate : £24,294.00-£27,094.00 per year includes sleep-in allowance for between 4 to 8 sleep ins per month.
