Hays are currently recruiting a Project Support Officer on behalf of their Social Housing client in Rochdale with an hourly rate of £15.00 per hour.

The main purpose of the role is to provide support to service users at our clients’ projects whilst working sympathetically with service users who have been made homeless and have complex needs.

Your new role will include the below:

  • Encourage and assist service users via support plans to develop their independence within the service or by moving on
  • Ensuring the upkeep, security and all aspects of health and safety of the building, service users, volunteers and staff as well as taking responsibility for any cash/equipment under your control
  • Carrying out regular key working/support sessions with service users to ensure their individual needs are met and to keep a comprehensive record of all contacts made
  • Attending staff meetings and representing the client at meetings with external partners & agencies
  • Ensuring service users have an appropriate level of preparation and induction to the rights and responsibilities in line with the relevant tenancy agreement
  • Ensure service users access their full support entitlements, that housing benefits are submitted in a timely manner, and arrears and bad debts are actively pursued.
  • Efficient keeping of appropriate records including case notes, support plans, financial and administrative files


What you’ll need to succeed

  • Ability to demonstrate personal organisational skills: attendance/timekeeping, planning workload, record keeping, use of IT systems, meeting deadlines
  • Strong communication skills including record keeping, report writing, use of IT and social media
  • Able to use training, supervision and other feedback to continually improve performance
  • Ability to address equality and diversity issues with an understanding of the needs of volunteers and service users
  • May on occasion be required to travel to other offices and therefore the ability to travel to other offices/locations which may not be easily accessible by public transport
  • Ability to assess service users needs and to plan & deliver an effective, stimulating and dynamic support system
