About the role

You will give practical, emotional, and support to people to high risk victims of domestic abuse .

You will work effectively with the wider staff team, other professionals such as social care, the police and health professionals in order to reduce the risk for victims.

You will act as the voice of the victim within the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference

You will help facilitate groups and other activities that are in the common interest of this client group, including help to develop community links.

You need to promote the service amongst the B.M.E. population of Gloucestershire and support them to access the support.

About you

You need to have a IDVA qualification (or ability to complete this within 6 months)

You need to have experience of working with victims of domestic abuse.

You need experience of working with victims of honour based violence, F.G.M. and forced marriage.

You need to have experience of working directly with customers in a challenging or potentially challenging environment.

You need to have an understanding of legal remedies for victims of domestic abuse and be able to advocate on behalf of a client

You will manage a caseload of clients with high support needs and lan and organise workload to meet targets and deadlines

You need to be able to work in a fast paced environment, maintaining effective decision making.

You need experience of safety planning for victims of domestic abuse.

You need to be creative in support planning, in order to meet the needs of our clients.

As Court Independent Domestic Violence Advisor, you will be required to attend a weekly Specialist Domestic Violence Court (SDVC) liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service. You will support victims of domestic abuse through the criminal justice system and ensure that victim`s voices are heard at court.
