About the role

This role will take a lead on the development of SEND NEET support work in Buckinghamshire by being aware of current local, regional and national trends, issues and concerns affecting young people that impact on the delivery of services, and using this knowledge to upskill staff, promoting and modelling effective practice and providing advice and guidance to service practitioners and managers for that aspect of the family support service provision.

This role will also be responsible for developing relationships with key partners to coordinate the support offer and steer development work relating to young people with an EHCP.

The role will manage a SEND NEET Practitioner who will provide direct support to young people and their families to support their individual needs in order to move into EET. The role will also work with partner services and organisations to develop the information and support offer for young people.

About you

As a SEND NEET Practitioner you will have: 

  • Considerable experience of working face to face with young people and their families. Whilst Demonstrating the ability to motivate young people and address their barriers.
  • Familiar with relevant local partners and support agencies.  
  • Ability to develop rapport with NEET young people by a variety of means such as telephone, text, virtual meetings or in person. Engage and support them to prepare for and move into EET.
