Our client school located just outside of Cardiff have opportunities for all graduates and are especially interested in graduates who are looking to gain the necessary experience to progress onto teacher training in 2023/24.

The Schools Senior Leadership team seeks to appoint 2 graduates to work directly within the schools ALN (Additional learning needs) provision to support pupils throughout KS3 and KS4. The school have specified the need for individuals that can show patience, resilience and character when dealing with mixed abilities. The school are willing to support future teachers by giving them the opportunity to shadow current staff to ensure they are confident within the classroom.

This school has 2 full time positions available for the rest of the academic year and this is the perfect stepping stone in to a career in education for future Teachers. If you were looking to continue next year the school have the potential of offering a 1 year temp contract before going on to Teacher training.

Teaching Assistant/ Learning Support Assistant roles for future Teachers

To be considered for this role, the applicant must hold;

  • Previous experience working with Secondary age children is desirable
  • Graduate of any Subject or experience working in a support capacity- Ex Forces, Support Workers, Teaching Assistants
  • Current DBS & EWC Registration (Support given through registration)
  • Ability to work with pupils that need extra support due to their additional learning needs

The school is a Large sized Secondary School and has around 1000 pupils on roll. Within the school there is specialist provisions for pupils with ALN & challenging behaviour. You will be required to be adaptable and able to work within these units as well as the mainstream side of the school.
