Our client

Morgan Hunt are working with a leading charity that work with women and men affected by domestic abuse and homelessness. They are to support women including those whoa re homeless or housing situation is not secure and to work with women, men and children who are fleeing domestic abuse as well as supporting young people.

We are currently recruiting a Service Manager for their services in Rochdale which include a female homelessness accommodation support service and a young parents service. You will be report in to the Head of Operations and have direct line management of a staff team. Working hours are 36 hours per week with a Manager on call rota.

The role – Service Manager

  • To lead and manage projects across Rochdale ensuring that they provide a high quality and individual service to women and young parents who are vulnerable and homeless.
  • Daily management and support of staff and overseeing effective support of clients.
  • Liaising and building professional relationships with contract managers, agencies and other bodies offering support to clients.
  • To ensure safeguarding of all clients and their children
  • Provide individual supervision and appraisals to staff and organise regular team meetings.
  • Provide input into setting and controlling budgets for the allocation projects within your remit.
  • Participate in recruitment of staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure that all service users have appropriate and up to date risk assessments in line with policy and procedure and to ensure that working practices are developed and implemented based on these assessments.
  • To monitor and develop support services in line with QAF and contract requirements.
  • To ensure Health and Safety good practice through the services.
  • To positively promote the organisation and represent the organisation in an appropriate and professional manner to its stakeholders and relevant bodies at a local level.
  • The candidate – Service Manager

  • A good working knowledge of homelessness and the needs of young parents and the support options available.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in front line working with vulnerable client groups.
  • The ability to develop effective relationships with employees, funders and clients.
  • The ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Good computer literacy with knowledge of word, excel, outlook and access.
  • Have a high degree of integrity, tact, diplomacy and organisational spirit with a hands on approach.
  • Management qualification to at least level 3 of qualified by experience.
  • Due to the nature of this role an Enhanced Adult and Child DBS is required dated within the last 12 months or on the update service. As regular travel is required a car driver is essential.
