GP Development Worker

Gloucestershire

Salary – £22,300-£27,800 per annum – depending on experience

Contract type – Permanent

Working hours – 15 May 2023

About the role

You will provide on-going training for health professionals in general practice on understanding and responding to domestic violence and abuse.

You will be developing a training package for delivery to health professionals who are based in GP surgeries.

You will be delivering training to health professionals.

You will be encouraging health professionals to ask victims about their experience of abuse and respond, record, safety check, and refer.

You will be building and maintaining an effective relationship with general practice teams.

You will support general practice teams to identify a Practice domestic abuse champion.

You will train DA champions and support them in their role.

You need to provide a responsive support service with a high quality of customer care, in line with the agreed values and aims of the service if requested by a GP.

About you

You will need practical training and substantial experience of working with vulnerable people.

You must have the ability to deliver training to other professionals.

You need to have direct experience of risk assessment when working with people needing support.

You must have experience of working and building partnerships with other agencies.

You need to have experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative frame

You must have a detailed understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding principles.
