The Role
PRS for Music are seeking a talented Head of Strategic Finance with experience of working with Joint Ventures/Partnerships to take ownership and be responsible for the programme portfolio from a financial perspective. As our Head of Strategic Finance you will work collaboratively with the Transformation team to ensure all strategic change initiatives are fully supported by Finance. Leading finance transformation projects and programmes, creating strategies for optimising finance processes and managing the finance systems road map. Key responsibilities will include reviewing and reporting on PRS’ Joint Venture financials, scenario modelling and building the financial component of business cases for programmes and new business initiatives. In this role the successful applicant will lead a team of 6 (2 direct and 4 indirect reports).
The Team
Our strategic finance team manages the financial relationship, reporting and governance with JV partners, provides finance advice for programmes involving other society Partners and provides financial assurance for business cases. In addition, they compile MCPS Board Reports incincluding monthly performance reporting, forecasting and budgeting
Responsibilities
As our Head of Strategic Finance, you will act as Deputy to our Director of Strategic Finance when required and take day to day responsibility across the following areas…
Project and Programme Portfolio:
- Accountable for the monthly portfolio financials report and attending the Portfolio Board. Supporting the FP&A team across the bi-annual forecasts, budgeting and 5-year plan processes (for Programme and Projects).
- Responsible for the reporting of Strategic confidential projects to the Executive Leadership team (ELT).
- Managing and developing a team to deliver financial updates to the Portfolio Board, as well as provide full financial business support to PRS’s strategic change initiatives and the overall Portfolio.
- Accountability for the business case templates and any financial portfolio related templates.
- Accountability for the maintenance of the financial Benefits register. Supporting Transformation with improving the Benefits Framework across the Business.
Finance Transformation, processes, and controls
- Support and drive the Finance Transformation initiative by creating strategies for optimising processes across Finance.
- Define business cases for finance projects, to include timelines, risks and issues. Assess systems used across the business to track and report all management information and determine the optimum Finance data model.
- Build out new and streamline existing processes linked to the Finance applications.
People Management:
- Identifying people development opportunities for the team aligned to the finance vision and the wider organisation’s needs.
- Developing managers with leadership potential and provide support in the development of their reports.
- Manage actions from the employee engagement survey results.
Other
- Oversight of Joint Venture financials, internal reporting and supporting ELT ahead of attending Joint Venture Board meetings.
- Manage the annual Activity Based Costing (ABC) project.
- Scenario modelling for new initiatives.

The Process
Our interview process for this role is simple:

First stage interview will take place virtually on MS Teams.

Second stage interview will take place in person at our London Bridge Hub.

We offer a hybrid working model, allowing employees to work from home up to three days a week.
