Carrington West are assisting their Central London local authority client in the search for a Housing Officer, to join their Housing Department on an initial 3 month rolling contract.
Job Purpose
·To provide a flexible person centred approach to support homeless clients with multiple and complex needs accepted for a Housing First service.
·To provide a personalised support service which will enable the customers to sustain a tenancy and address any other needs that are identified.
·To use the knowledge and understanding of the Council’s housing and community care procedures along with knowledge of housing support services to provide advice, assistance and ongoing flexible support to multiple complex needs customers accepted for a Housing First Service.
·To provide advice, support and access to relevant Housing Options, benefits and other entitlements available to Housing First Customer.
·To ensure the customer can maintain the tenancy provided by linking the customer into all available support available in Southwark.
·To liaise with private landlords to secure and maintain accommodation for the customer
·To liaise with all statutory partners in health, housing, social care, police and support providers to ensure the customer can maintain the tenancy provided.
·This is a specialist role that will be at the forefront of the prevention of homelessness, and at the cutting edge following the introduction of the Homelessness Act 2017.
