Floating Tenancy Support Worker

We are working in partnership with a fantastic organisation who provide support to those facing homelessness and vulnerably housed people.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours a week on rolling rota that will include days, night and weekend working.
The role will be based at a project based in Caerphilly that supports single homeless individuals over the age of 25, some of which have complex needs, as well at outreach/floating support.

Within this role you will be providing residential and floating support to individuals to promote independence and lead to a positive move-on. You will also be providing housing related support within people’s homes or in the community, the aim being to prevent homelessness.

You will build their skills and confidence and empower them to work on housing and personal issues, and assist them to improve their ability to maintain their current or future accommodation.
You will provide support in the night when required within the project to promote a quiet and peaceful environment or residents and visitors.

You will carry out the daily tasks and activities within the individuals support plans, and provide information, advice and guidance to enable individuals make informed decisions about their needs and support.

You will ensure that the individuals needs are met through consistent application of the organisations model of support, and assist with referrals and liaise with relevant agencies with or on behalf of service users.

You will assist with individuals completing Housing Benefit applications and address and report any maintenance issues in line with the maintenance policy.

The skills and experience that we are looking for;

  • Experience of providing to support to vulnerable people
  • Experience of dealing with challenging situations
  • Full driving license and access to your own vehicle.
  • Basic knowledge of complex needs, such as substance misuse and mental health.
  • Experience of providing housing related support.
  • Confident and able to work lone work on your own initiative.
