Assertive Outreach Nurse – Substance Misuse


Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to become an Assertive Outreach Nurse.

My client has just secured funding and are now looking to recruit staff to join dedicated multi-disciplinary teams across the country to support rough sleepers with harm reduction and to engagement in treatment and will sit within drug and alcohol treatment services.

You will be improving choice and control for individuals who may be rough sleeping, homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Main Duties

  • Provide support to rough sleepers
  • Work directly with the emergency accommodation
  • Help support people in leading healthier lives
  • Engage with people who have a history of rough sleeping and substance misuse
  • record information with high attention to detail

Must have some knowledge of one or more of the following:

  • Homelessness
  • Mental Health
  • Criminal Justice System
  • Substance misuse


  • Help launch a brand new service
  • Opportunities for growth and development
  • Wellbeing hour every week
  • One half a day a month
  • Active support with revalidation
  • Regular 1:1s and appraisals with their clinical supervisor/ line manager
  • NMC fees paid
