Academic Learning Support Assistant (Hourly Paid)

Variable Hours up to 20 per week (Term Time 38 weeks) to 30th June 2023 initially

As a key member of the Student Support and Engagement Team you will provide a high quality, proactive learning support service for students (in mainstream classes) who have special educational needs and disabilities. You will work with curriculum teams to ensure that all learners receiving support have the opportunities to achieve and exceed their potential, develop independence skills and have equal opportunities to progress into further study, employment and/or positive community engagement. Support will include: practical access, simple adaptations and note taking. You will keep accurate records, monitor and track individual support details and progress. You will be expected to attend to personal care needs, be involved in moving and handling and the administration of medication, after receipt of the appropriate training.

You must have Experience knowledge and understanding of barriers and issues faced by students with special educational needs and disabilities together with strategies to overcome these. Experience of working in an education or care setting with young people with learning difficulties, disabilities and complex and physical needs would be an advantage.
