The Role :

As the Company is experiencing continued growth and increased customer demand, we are now seeking to appoint an experienced and capable individual to join our team in Rainham in the position of Technical Project Manager.

Reporting to Depot Manager, the Technical Project Manager will hold full responsibility for projects, planned & emergency response from inception to completion and manage such projects fully.

Duties will include the organisation and control all aspects of industrial services projects including the resourcing, planning of projects, and holding full responsibility for successful completion of all allocated projects from initial client contact through to invoice.

Employed on a full-time basis, the nature of the environment and seniority of this role will require a flexible approach to working hours at times, the Technical Project Manager will be required to work outside of these normal hours.

The successful candidate can expect to be deployed anywhere in the UK, and as such overnight stay away from home will be a regular aspect of this role. Travel to any Company or customer site will also be required.

Key tasks and responsibilities associated with this role are as follows:

  • Create awareness within all markets & sectors sector about A&A and its services.
  • Identify new opportunities for the company by identifying projects and visiting existing and new customers.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all assigned incoming enquiries via the A&A Client Services & Sales / Account Management teams
  • Attend client meetings & site visits with a view to identifying client requirements and building & winning A&A proposals; quotes including design of scope of works & pricing.
  • Secure profitable jobs in line with group strategy through marketing, direct sales, exploring existing customers.
  • Coordinate all information from different disciplines, arrange and generate the formal proposals & response. Prioritise work and emergency responses.
  • Negotiate and finalize sales agreements with customers.
  • Oversee jobs execution through planning, coordination, procurement, site works, equipment, subcontractors, and labour management.
  • On site management of depot operatives, technicians & engineers to achieve successful completion of all assigned projects
  • Implement effecting efficiencies, ensuring cost savings and quality control.

This list is not exhaustive and the postholder may be asked to fulfil a variety of duties as required by management. The Technical Project Manager will be asked to assist with depot management. This will include assisting with operational planning, annual leave cover, pricing of jobs etc.

Technical Project Manager requirements

  • Good technical and industry knowledge and experience including Confined Space working, Water jetting, ADR, Marine Response etc.
  • Previous experience in a similar role. 5 years preferable. This is not essential but previous experience in similar is important.
  • Clean full UK Driving Licence.
  • Ideal but not essential: HGV 1 & 2 with appropriate CPC & ADR
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written, with internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrate keen commercial awareness and develop new business with clients at any opportunity.
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • Clean UK driving licence.
