Job Summary:

Centenary House is a 68-bed residential Life House accommodating vulnerable homeless men over 18 years of age. The role of the Assistant Support Worker with The Salvation Army is an inspirational one and key to achieving successful outcomes for our vulnerable clients.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Support Worker, you will be responsible for assisting and delivering a high-quality programme of support and meaningful activities. You will need good communication skills and an enthusiasm for working with vulnerable adults who have experienced homelessness.

You will work with a team to ensure the smooth running of the centre, supporting clients in their move into independent accommodation, assisting with reception duties, administration, support, activities and life skills training.

The Successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of the benefits system and understanding of supportive housing funding streams and reporting requirements.
  • Legislation relating to Health & Safety and safeguarding of clients and staff.
  • Knowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by homeless and vulnerable clients.
  • Appointment subjectect to Satisfactory References, Proof of right to work in the UK and Access NI Check. Applicants will need to be registered with NISCC
