Night Support Worker – Rugby

Salary – £21,500 – Full-time

Overview of the role
The client is looking for a full-time Night Support Worker, based in Rugby to work with their service users who are at risk of homelessness. You will provide support to those who are in need, to try and access the appropriate benefits and help with their tenancy. You will be working in their supported accommodation service, alongside a team of Support Workers and Floating Support Workers, to improve the lives of young people aged 16 to 25. As you are the night service, you will be the only staff member on site, and you will provide activities for service users, a cooking evening, movie night, support sessions, or other activities. On occasions, you will have an emergency drop in, where you will need to asses and refer them there and then to see if you can provide accommodation. In case of other emergency events, staff members will be on-call, and you will only need to call emergency services, rather than tackle issues directly which are out of your control.

Key Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to;
” Providing general practical and emotional support to people in the service in
” Order to promote their independence and recovery
” Responding appropriately to chaotic and challenging behaviour to promote the
” Wellbeing of people in the service and staff
” Providing support to those at risk of homelessness
” Providing an effective and responsive supportive service
” Liaise with referral teams/agencies regarding vacancies and referrals.

Required Skills, Experience, & Knowledge
” At least 6 months’ experience supporting youths or young adults who are homeless or who are at risk of becoming homeless
” You need to be resilient, as some service users will be vulnerable and will have challenging behaviour, and other complex needs
” Having the right attitude is key, and the most important thing my client is looking for. You need to show your loyalty and they will repay that faith with training and opportunities to grow within their organisation
” Computer literate, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
