A leading medical devices manufacturer and international distributor is now hiring for a Service Engineer to join their Scotland team.
Role information – Field Service Engineer – Scotland
As a Medical Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for the planned maintenance and reactive, breakdown repair of operating theatre equipment within hospitals in your assigned territory.
Example of devices you will be trained to work on include high end operating tables, operating lights, anaesthetic gas pendants and integrated OR solution systems (telemetry systems within theatres).
Whilst bio-medical or clinical engineering experience is desirable, training is on offer and so all applicants with field-based electrical engineering experience are welcome (including time served or apprenticeship trained electricians).
Key responsibilities include:
Carry out routine servicing of equipment.
Carry out electrical, electronic and mechanical, fault finding and repair.
Carry out routine adjustments of equipment, where necessary.
Maintain adequate stock levels of spare parts within guidelines.
Maintain quality documentation records for submission to the customer via approved systems.
Cultivate a positive rapport with the customer, always demonstrating first class interpersonal skills in a courteous and professional manner.
This role will be home based, covering the M8 Corridor between Edinburgh and Glasgow. However, flexibility to travel further afield on occasions is essential.
This role will be best suited to any of the following applicants:
Medical engineering experience (Medical Engineers, Clinical Engineers, EBME Engineers, EME Engineers, Biomedical Engineers)
Military Engineers (REME, Avionics Engineers, Weapons Engineers, those with experience with comms, radar, sonar, aircrafts etc.)
Electrically biased Engineers with a HNC or above in engineering/related discipline with field-based experience.

£30,000 – £33,000/pa

What experience is needed to apply?
Electrically biased service and repair experience (medical or ex-military engineers are desirable but not essential)
Experience in a field-based role or role which requires travel
UK driving licence
Good customer service, team worker and communication skills
HNC or equivalent/above in an engineering or related discipline (bonus but not essential)
