Logos House is a short stay service that supports people to achieve their long-term goals. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Support Team. As a Specialist Support Worker, you will empower individuals to overcome the barriers they face, achieve their aspirations, and support them to move on towards independent living. 

Key Responsibilities:

The role of the Specialist Support Worker is critical to providing an enhanced level of service for our vulnerable and complex clients. As a highly competent Specialist Support Worker you will be responsible for taking a lead role with our Harm minimization approach to substance misuse, working within our programme to plan and deliver a high-quality support service, which delivers a Psycho-social programme approach, supporting residents to make informed decisions and educating/updating staff on Harm minimization approaches. Key Performance Indicators for each are set. Responsible to: Service Manager. Responsible for line management, this will be agreed locally. Specialist Support Workers are required to fulfil Duty Management and on call duties on a rota basis.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by homeless and vulnerable clients, particularly issues relating to substance misuse.
  • An understanding of working in a psychologically informed way, using harm minimization approaches.
  • The ability to take the lead and make decisions, including delivering our Psycho-social programme.
  • Ability to work in busy environment, be solution focused, show good time management skills and can demonstrate ability to prioritise and make decisions under pressure
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in range of IT Packages including Microsoft
  • Appointment subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure check, confirmation of enrolment to the DBS Update Service, satisfactory references, and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
