What you’ll do

  • Work with the Head of Marketing to build our SEO and content strategy 
  • Carry out keyword research to support SEO strategy
  • Brief written content to freelance writers and manage our overall content backlog 
  • Get stuck into sub-eding, and occasionally write content for across the website 
  • Manage content requests from our internal team and prioritise them in our content backlog alongside SEO content 
  • Set up SEO reporting for Octopus Electric Vehicles, monitoring our organic growth, sharing performance updates and insights with a wider group of stakeholders 
  • Communicate with the wider team to make sure key stakeholders are not only aware of performance but also landscape changes and the impact our actions are having on organic traffic
  • Work with our PR Lead to ideate and execute outreach campaigns to drive backlinks and brand awareness for Octopus Electric Vehicles 
  • Come up with inventive ways to drive backlinks from our broad set of business clients 
  • Work with Product and Development team to make sure all website development is done in an SEO friendly way 
  • Make sure we have access to the right tools to have high quality conversations about further strategy development
  • What you’ll need

  • A deep understanding of what drives organic growth, particularly for new start-up businesses 
  • A passion for keeping up with algorithm changes, SEO trends and opportunities that may benefit our SEO approach 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills and a confidence in relaying complex information in an easily digestible way 
  • Great stakeholder management skills 
  • An appreciation for brand consistency and ability to feed back clearly to writers of any content to make sure all writing is on-brand 
  • Experience in leading SEO activity, ideally in a B2B team
  • An understanding of the wider marketing mix and how SEO fits in, including an ability to show the commercial value of organic growth for the business
