The Role and Company

I am currently working as the only retail coffee company in the world to serve 100% speciality grade Robusta Coffee in a market dominated by Arabica. They buy their coffee directly from plantations ensuring the picking, drying, and washing process adhere to the strictest of guidelines for a sustainable model that protects the environment, and everyone involved.

All their venues feature an immersive urban experience combined with music and arts and an after-work scene where coffee-inspired cocktails and local spirits come together. They are also passionate about the support the homeless community through free coffee boards. As a social enterprise, they believe differently from other speciality coffee companies and strive for profit to achieve their purpose. Duties of a General Manager:

 

  • Closely manage key P&L lines, especially labour costs, adjusting as required, as well as conducting budget reviews and reporting cost plans to upper management
  • Deliver retail profit targets without compromising the brand, customer experience, product quality or employee engagement.
  • Making sure your team are serving superb coffee, as well as leading your team to deliver unique experiences for your customers
  • Constantly inspiring your team to go the extra mile for our guests, keeping expectations & standards high
  • Coaching & developing your team to be the best they can be. You are passionate about growing individuals within your group and helping them in their career journeys.
  • Confidently running shifts and working closely with your team to go the extra mile for our customers
  • Ensuring the basic day-to-day practices of your cafe are always maintained, including coffee quality, food quality, customer experience, health & safety and food hygiene & allergen practices
  • Effectively dealing with customer feedback, using this as an opportunity to improve performance and operational best practice
