If so, we have your next role. Gwent Police are looking for Investigative Support Officers to help investigating serious and complex crimes, dealing with victims, offenders and witnesses for PIP 1 and PIP 2 crimes.

Role: Investigative Support Officer

Location: Blackwood Police Station

Rate: £ pounds/hour

Contract length: 6 months

Shift Patterns: 37 hours per week. Mon – Fri 9 to 5

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise and work with other investigators, specialists and managers to establish and use appropriate methods for gathering material
  • Assess threat, harm and risk in order to develop and implement strategies to investigate serious and complex crime
  • Interview witnesses and suspects and gather all required information in achieving best evidence
  • Respond to safeguarding concerns and manage risk in cases, including but not limited to; child neglect, child abuse, and child sexual abuse, offences against vulnerable adults, domestic abuse and sexual offences to protect the most vulnerable people in society
  • Prepare reports on the outcome of investigations and build / manage case files
  • Essential requirements:

  • Ex police
  • Must hold experience in PIP level 1 accreditation or have relevant investigative experience
  • Full uk driving licence
  • Experienced in complex investigations
  • Educated to NVQ Level 3 standard or equivalent
  • Desirable Requirements:

  • Report writing skills
  • Must have knowledge of Data Protection legislation
  • Fluency in Welsh is desirable
