Job Description

Our client offers a range of, welcoming, and professional support services to the homeless community.

They are looking for a part time Cook to join their team to work in their Residential support centre in the South East London area.

Day to Day:

  • You will put the Rough Sleepers Physical and Psychological wellbeing at the heart of everything you do.
  • You will assist with the preparation and serving of meals to the children, ensuring all special dietary needs are met and prepare texture modified food as directed.
  • You will maintain records and control stock rotation, ensure the kitchen and service areas are always clean and hygienic.
  • Undertake regular deep cleans of their working kitchen.
  • Ensure all allergen and dietary requirements are adhered to.
  • Prepare Snacks and Meals for residents .
  • To ensure the kitchen and serving areas are maintained to the highest standards in terms of presentation and cleanliness.
  • Requirements:

  • Experience in the catering industry is beneficial although not essential.
  • Food handling course qualification would be desirable.
  • Prevoius experience in the health and social care industry would be beneficial
  • You should have good judgement, problem solving.
  • You will always be expected to work within our client staff values and promote these by being an effective communicator, passionate about your work, encouraging team working and having a positive attitude.
  • Overall, you will be compassionate, excellent communicator and determined to deliver quality care whilst inspiring your team around you.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic health and safety and food safety..
  • COSHH Knowledge
  • Must have an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
