A fantastic opportunity has emerged for a Floating Support Worker to join the housing department at one of Adecco’s leading public sector clients in a temporary role until the end of March .

Our client is based in Sutton in South London, but this is a hybrid role so will be a mixture of office and home working (as well as being out on visits with clients). Key elements of the role include:

  • Providing support, assistance & coaching to ex-offenders who will be homeless upon release from prison with advice in such areas, but not exclusively, welfare and housing benefits, tax credits, debt counselling, housing options, employment and training opportunities, provision of support services or long term accommodation options.
  • Motivating clients to take action to improve their situation and life chances.
  • Supporting clients, in a way that is outcome focused to motivate, enthuse and build individual talents, towards successful independent living.
  • Developing and reviewing solution focussed and person centred action/support plans with both short and long term aims as required to meet the needs of the customer.
  • Taking appropriate action to assist clients to maximise their opportunity of accessing and maintaining accommodation, employment and health care and/or live independently and maximise income.
  • Forging and maintaining effective working relationships and working collaboratively with internal and external individuals and organisations to provide information, advice and support to this client group.
  • Identifying risk and taking appropriate action to mitigate against excessive or avoidable risk, referring to advisers or senior managers where appropriate.
  • Supporting individuals to move-on to appropriate long-term accommodation and empower them to remain in their new home by conducting dedicated short-term resettlement work
  • Flexibility is needed where the successful candidate will be required to visit clients, meet in the community (around Sutton and the surrounding areas) for appointments, attend viewings with clients and be colocated in the Probation office once a week / WIP hub every other month.

Only applicants who feel they meet the above criteria, can interview in mid/late September and start on short notice (1-2 weeks’ notice) need apply as our client is keen to hire as soon as possible for this post.
