£26, per annum (Pension Scheme: 7% plus employee contribution currently 1%)

The Senior Adviser will provide day-to-day oversight of the support and advice offered at the Centre, and first tier support and supervision of our hard working and dedicated Advice Team. They will be responsible for the smooth running of the day-to-day support offered by the team, ensuring there is sufficient cover for each part of service delivery, and that the team provides quality, person-centred, advice and support. The Senior Adviser will also support the ongoing relationships with partner agencies, who co-locate at the Hub to meet the multiple needs of the people ihAg supports.
Main duties and responsibilities:
oversee the day-to-day operations of the Advice Team
provide high level advice and support to service users (particularly those that are more persistent or complex)
alongside the Advice Services Manager, directly supervise members of the Advice Team
establish and maintain effective working relationships with partnership agencies
identify relevant training and development opportunities for new and existing staff including providing a mentoring role where appropriate
maintain timely, accurate and up-to-date records and relevant information
compile and present qualitative and quantitative reports to the Advice Services Manager as required
take a lead role in maintaining the standards as set out in the Advice Quality Standard
any other duties as identified by the Advice Services Manager.
You should have experience of:
advice work using a variety of channels (face to face, telephone, digital and post)
working with people who meet one or more of the following criteria: homeless, at risk of homelessness, have complex personal circumstances which cause adversity
working with a wide range of professionals/third parties
finding creative ways to engage people.
The Chapman Centre is the only Homelessness Advice Hub in Ipswich, providing practical support and advice to people who are sleeping on the streets, housed in temporary emergency accommodation and/or at risk of homelessness. Working in partnership with other professionals, the Centre provides a seamless gateway to specialist services such as money advice, health outreach, mental health practitioners, housing options, and drug and alcohol support services, ensuring people receive an individualised, wrap-around support package from a safe, person-centred environment.
