The Market Intelligence Platform and Channels (PC) organization provides data technology and services supporting acquisition, ingestion, content management, mastering and distribution to power our business line and customer needs. Focus on platform scale to support business lines through a common data lifecycle that accelerates business value. The office strives to provide new insight to our customers through data discovery, research, and integrated access. In certain cases, the office will utilize capital investment on key initiatives to deliver immediate value or remediate high risk areas through structured programs. Maintains a focus on innovation to keep ahead of market trends and disruptive technologies.
Position summary
Leads technical operations, cloud engineering and development enablement as part of a wider transformation of products and services leveraging cloud technology within PC. This organization is focused on enabling all PC platform teams through standardization of build pipeline capabilities, instrumentation, blueprints, cloud access patterns, shared service support, common tooling, transparency (e.g., cloud use) and subject matter expertise on various technology disciplines. Heavy focus on DevOps practices and capabilities that focus on shift-left approach to enforcing security from inception. Work with all teams on cloud journey planning in support of both migration activities and implementation of modern development pipeline strategies inclusive of ongoing support. Align with divisional and enterprise IT requirements with platform objectives partnering where appropriate. Elevate engineering skillset within the organization through engagement and structured learning. Develop future strategies that benefit long term business initiatives and transformation programs.
Duties & accountabilities
Leads technical operations, cloud engineering and dev enablement functions with heavy focus on cloud transformation for all platforms and channel solutions
Interface between divisional, corporate Enterprise IT functions on common requirements related to infrastructure, application security and ITSM processes
Aligned to divisional requirements, manages access, definitions, and controls to both cloud and on-premises environments
Defines standard infrastructure blueprints (IaC), reference implementations, immutable pipeline capabilities and other required specifications for divisional consumption
Support cloud journey initiatives through use of common capabilities and direct support of migration activities
Develop and support shared services that provide management, reporting and development pipeline capabilities
Enable shift-left security capabilities as part of DevOps practices
Align security engineering requirements between Corporate IT and divisional boundaries
Provide subject matter expertise to teams in support of enablement and specific technology areas driving a more shift-left practice
Manage and review aspects of infrastructure systems projects and assist in developing infrastructure systems growth initiatives
Approve and oversee project plans, budgets and resources and ensure budgets and schedules meet organization requirements
Lead analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential usage and impact on the business unit and organization
Review practices to ensure consistency with policies, compliance regulations and control requirements, providing direction and changes as needed and ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry trends
Participate in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people
Work with other management in Infrastructure Systems and across IT.
Interact with executives and/or major customers, utilizing negotiating and influencing skills when matters are significant to the organization
Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the business unit and organization
Business competencies
Education and experience
10+ years of experience in relevant technology disciplines and business functions
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a Business, Financial or Technical field
Extensive knowledge of financial products, industry trends, regulatory rules in different jurisdictions and operational practices across a range of asset classes
Experience of working with development methodologies like Agile, Kanban
Extensive experience of working on mission critical systems
Knowledge of Networks, Database, Storage, Management Systems, services frameworks, cloud technologies
Commercial awareness
General understanding of the financial services industry economics, business benefits and commercial realities in delivering solutions from both as a supplier and the customer’s perspectives.
