An established charitable organisation is currently looking to recruit a Supported Housing Officer based in the Welwyn Garden City area on a temp to perm basis.
Location: Welwyn Garden City
Hours: per week
Duration: 3 months temp to perm
Shifts: 8am-4pm, 2pm-10pm and one in 4 weekends
Pay: Up to £16 per hour umbrella dependant on experience
Main responsibilities in the role:
Manage a case load of service users aged 18+ within a homeless hostel
Deliver emotional and life skills based support, assisting service users with day-to-day tasks
Complete support plans and risk assessments with the service users
Enforce tenancy conditions in line with procedures including low-level anti-social behaviour and rent arrears
Offer specialist knowledge and insight into rent arrears helping tenants with budgeting
Carry out regular estate inspections
Offer advice and assistance to tenants regarding their benefit entitlements
Provide support and advice to tenants in relation to issues concerning their tenancies
Manage void properties to ensure the quickest re-let times including carrying out viewings and sign-ups
Additional requirements:
Experience of providing tenancy support to vulnerable people, particularly homeless client groups
An enhanced DBS check from within the last 3 years or willingness to obtain
Excellent communication skills and basic IT skills are essential
Due to the location of the project, a driver with a car is essential for this role
