A fantastic opportunity to join an International, multi-disciplinary Tier 1 construction company working on high capacity Fibre Telecoms.

Purpose Of The Role

Reporting to the Construction Manager.

The Storeperson is responsible for ensuring the optimum running of the Stores/ Yard in support of the regional business and project specific requirements, with day to day responsibility for the issue and receipt of Materials, Specialist Plant & Components, Tools, Equipment, Consumables & PPE;

They will ensure that stock and plant levels are maintained in line with the business and project needs and deliver regular, comprehensive reports on stock levels together with early warnings on limited availability of strategic stock;

As required, they will deliver and manage the cataloguing of stock held for/at the project, segregation and grouping of materials and organise the safe disposal of redundant items.


  • To co-ordinate and manage materials and plant ensuring all administration procedures are followed, and ensuring accurate and efficient stock inventory system is kept and recorded;
  • Regularly liaise with project teams to ensure suitable levels of stock are in place or on order in line with project and site construction requirements;
  • Liaise with project and operational Staff to ensure all materials required for site are arranged and accessible in line with working hours and extended hours of work (nights, weekends etc.);
  • Supervise the unloading & loading delivery vehicles and ensure they follow the depot / yard H&S rules;
  • Check deliveries against delivery receipts / notes and check for quality, quantities & damage, raising any issues at earliest possible time;
  • Liaise with suppliers and project team regarding the replacement/return of faulty/damaged stock;
  • Carrying out regular stock checks
  • Ordering and Issue of materials, PPE, consumables, etc;
  • Hiring, acceptance and off hiring of plant and equipment;
  • Management of the calibration of tools & equipment (inc Lifting) and arranging specialist testing where required in a timely manner;
  • Managing the security of yard and ensuring access is only permitted to authorised personnel;
  • Ensuring the yard and store is tidy and well organised at all times;
  • Ensure that all relevant H&S and COSHH requirements are followed and potential issues raised to the Construction Manager or H&S Manager at the earliest opportunity;
  • General housekeeping of the office, stores and grounds;

Candidate Requirements


  • 1+ years’ storeman experience within the construction industry;
  • Valid CSCS card;
  • Emergency First Aid At Work;
  • Full UK driving licence;
  • IT Skills MS Outlook, MSP & MS Word, Excel;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills


  • HGV licence is an advantage;
  • Valid Telehandler licence;
