Health & Safety Officer

Are you a Health & Safety Officer with experience in Manufacturing and Engineering? Interested in a key role within a UK wide manufacturer of precision engineered products?

VANRATH are recruiting a Health & Safety Officer to uphold and continuously develop a first class health and safety service for their rapidly expanding workforce.

Client

Our client is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of precision engineered products and components. With over 30 years experience in their industry, they boast a expansive client base consisting of the biggest names in the mining, quarry, material handling and excavating industries.

This role will be part an integral part of ambitious expansion plans for 2023, with exciting investment planned for the upcoming year and beyond.

£40k to £42k dependant upon experience

Main Responsibilities

  • Implementation and continuous improvement of internal health and safety policies/ strategies
  • Drawing-up safe operational procedures
  • Oversee training requirements, ensuring staff training is current and leading on arrangements to ensure training is completed to the required standard.
  • Oversee necessary external plant statutory inspections
  • Determining ways of reducing risks and implementing improvements
  • Recording and maintenance of sub-contractor on boarding documents and management while on site
  • Keeping up to date and ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation
  • Regular production audits
  • Regular communication to all employees including tool box talks and new start inductions

The Ideal Person:

  • Recognised Health & Safety Qualification (NEBOSH or similar)
  • Minimum of 2 years H&S experience
  • Working Knowledge of ISO 45001 standards
