Locum Consultant Acute Physician
York and Scarborough Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Are you within 6 months of submitting your CESR application and seeking a long term career opportunity with the ultimate goal of a permanent consultant position within the NHS?

We are looking to recruit a new Consultant Acute Physician and we want to welcome you to join our friendly, dynamic and enthusiastic team of Acute Physicians based at Scarborough Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post is offered as 10 programmed activities (PAs) over five days and you will be part of the general medical on call rota, currently running at 1 in 12.
We are open to discuss any specific or specialised job plans that candidates may desire, including flexible/less than full time working. The department strives to achieve a collective work ethos to help to maintain long term sustainability to work-life balance.

- Full GMC Registration with a License to Practice
- CESR submission for Acute / General medicine to be made within 6 months of appointment (details of how this will be achieved must be evidenced in the application)
- Medical degree
Desirable
- Entry on specialist Register in Acute Medicine & GIM expected within 6 months of the interview date
Mentoring and Teaching
Essential
- Experience of teaching undergraduate and post graduate trainees
- Experience of undertaking audits and presenting their findings
- Ability to demonstrate clinical experience and skill required for gaining UK CCT in Acute +/- General Medicine
Clinical practice/ competence
Essential
- Ability to demonstrate clinical experience and skill in the specialty
- Demonstrates a sound knowledge of clinical governance practice
