Band 7 Hepatitis C Specialist Nurse / AHP

PLEASE NOTE: This is a fixed-term post for 1 year, with the possibility to extend for a further year.

To work as part of the Viral Nursing Service and contribute to providing a testing and treatment service for patients with Hepatitis C in various community and custodial settings across the County of Berkshire, including homeless hostels, pharmacies, custodial settings, drug and alcohol services.

At times, the post holder may be also required to work in secondary care settings.

This role will may require travel across the ODN which includes Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, and Swindon.

The Community Hepatology service is also in the process of developing a mobile service which may will also be part of this role.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is an experienced nurse/AHP who, acting within their professional boundaries, participate in the treatment and management of viral hepatitis, specifically Hepatitis C.

You will demonstrate a robust, contemporary knowledge of the management of liver disease/viral hepatitis.

Based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, the post holder will (having demonstrated adequate competence) work independently in satellite services across the county.

This is a developmental role with a clear strategy for training.

You will work on occasions autonomously but within Trust and NMC / AHP policies, protocols and guidelines.

The post holder will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making, high levels of critical thinking and holistic practice as well as a thorough knowledge of EASL, BASL and NICE clinical guidelines.
