You will need to be an experienced nurse with leadership skills and experience, as you will be expected to manage the Endoscopy unit effectively and provide clinical leadership to the nursing team. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for leading and developing the nursing team. You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills and also provide a visible role model within the unit.

Experience of endoscopy would be beneficial in this role but is not essential.

A key feature of the role is ensuring that the unit provides the highest standards of patient care and achieves national targets to meet service need and ensure continuing JAG accreditation.

Main duties of the job

The Endoscopy manager (Senior sister/charge nurse) has overall responsibility for the provision of excellent care with compassion for the patients, relatives and visitors who are cared for within their department or by their team

The endoscopy nursing team at Chorley is a fantastic team who are hardworking, caring and would welcome you as the Endoscopy manager.

About us

We are a JAG accredited unit with 2 endoscopy rooms.

Some examples of the procedures we do in the unit include:

  • GI procedures including: OGD/Colonoscopy/Flexible sigmoidoscopy/Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR)/Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)/Breath Tests.
  • As part of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) we undertake FOBt lists.
  • Diagnostic bronchoscopies
