Two exciting opportunities (one full-time and one part-time)have arisen at Smile Together Dental CIC, working within our Decontamination team,to support our continuing business growth and development.

Reporting to our Support ServicesManager, these positions will suitsomeone who has experience in healthcare, an understanding ofinfection control procedures and enjoys driving.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities will include (but are notlimited to) the decontamination of dental instruments and the collectingand delivering of dental instruments, mail and any other ad-hoc items tolocations around Cornwall using our company vehicles.

    Job responsibilities

    JobSummary

    Responsible for thedecontamination of dental instruments and the collection and delivery of them to locations around Cornwall using a company vehicle. Responsiblefor the transportation of mail and other ad hoc goods and equipment between theSmile Together sites according to the timetable and on other occasions asinstructed.

    Keyaccountabilities:

    Able to recognise and identify all dental equipment

    Manage the decontamination of dental instruments and organise effectivelyfor timely clinical use

    Use the computer and tracking system when and where appropriate

    Assist in the maintaining of stock levels and the ordering of consumablesused in the Decontamination Hub

    Maintain the Decontamination Hub, keeping it clean and tidy

    Adhere to departmental policies, protocols and guidance determined by thecompany

    Ensure that the highest standards of decontamination are in place and inaccordance with HTM 01-05

    Contribute towards the development of best practice within the service tohelp and achieve high quality patient care

    Ensure dental equipment is available to clinical colleagues as and whenrequired

    Promote best practice and a high level of support to dental operators andpatient care for the company

    Participate in clinical governance sessions, complying with the companysclinical governance (this will include audits)

    Assist with audits relevant to Decontamination (eg. Health and Safety,Infection Control, Security, Quality Standards etc)

    Sterilisation of dental equipment and instruments in line with SmileTogether policies and procedures using washer disinfectors/autoclaves and DACMachines

    Frequent requirement to exert moderate lifting when moving boxes ofinstruments (eg. emptying the washer disinfector and autoclaves). This will bea daily requirement and manual handling training will be provided

    The post holder will be required to maintain good concentration to accuratelycheck in, sterilise and pack equipment, with frequent interruptions

    Organise own time and delivery routes where appropriate for maximumefficiency

    Maintenanceof items of dental equipment including dismantling, cleaning, lubrication andreassembly
